REVIEW: CNP LABORATORY ENZYME POWDER WASH

During my CNP Laboratory haul, I got a free bottle sample from the shop, and my, it's quite a big sample with quite a lot of uses. This is the first time I've tried an enzyme wash, but I've heard many great things about it before.

I feel that the traditional Korean peeling gels aren't really effective, as I've tried rubbing the peeling gel on different surfaces (including the stone bench top), and the same rubber pieces still appear. I've also been told many times that scrubs are too harsh for the skin, especially if you have thin and sensitive skin like me.

So here I am with my powder wash. It's not the first powder wash I've tried though, as my first was with a Japanese brand, Fancl. The difference between the two, is that the Fancl required the use of a sponge to foam up, whereas this enzyme powder wash foams up with water alone.

So, back to business, this is the
CNP Laboratory Deep Enzyme Powder Wash.

Full Size Product: 70g

Ingredients
Mixed fermented complex (pomegranate fermented extract, pu'er tea fermented extract, bean fermented extract), green tea EGCG

Product Description
Plant originated protein decomposition enzyme cleanses old impurities deeply.
Creates smooth skin texture.
Enzyme removes dead skin cells on skin surface to activate turnover period and create healthy skin.
Fine lather exfoliates without burden to the skin
Skin remains moisturised skin without dryness after cleansing
Contains niacinamide and rice bran extract for dull skin improvement to brighten the skin.
Enzyme in the powder wash activates the best among 35-40 degrees.
No additives, artificial colours, talc, benzophenone, mineral oil, alcohol, silicon, sulfate, surfactant.

How To Use
Pour a moderate amount into your palm and add some water.
Add some water to create enough lather.

Apply the foam all over the face, and gently massage.
Rinse off with warm water.
Apply 2-3 times a week depending on your skin condition.

Tip 1: Put some water to the powder, and rub against the face for a scrub effect. *Avoid the eyes
Tip 2: Rub the powder to wet nose to remove sebum and blackhead.
Tip 3: Mix the powder to your usual facial cleanser for a richer lather and deep cleansing effect.

You only need around a penny size worth of product to work with. There's a slight fruity scent, but not artificial or too overwhelming. It foams up easily with water, but it may feel slightly beady at first when the powder is still dissolving. The powder only foams up slightly, as it does not contain any foaming agents. After rinsing the foam off my face with water, I instantly noticed that my face felt super soft, smooth, and pores were minimised. My face did not feel dry afterwards.
There were so many uses out of the small bottle that I still haven't finished my bottle yet, though I went to buy myself a full size product during the Mother's Day promotion. I use mine at least once or twice a week, and have loved it since! I'm really loving CNP Laboratory so far!!

REVIEW: OSEQUE HIGH-END TOUCH SPF34 PA++

This product has been continuously showing up on my Facebook news feed, so as a beauty blogger, I knew I had to get it!

This is the Osèque High-End Touch in shade 21 Light Beige. This product was also mentioned in the "Get It Beauty 2015", hence its popularity.

The Osèque High-End Touch comes in two shades:
#21 Light Beige#23 Natural Beige

Volume: 30ml

Product Features
Soft and fantastic colour

Sunlight and UV ray blockage (SPF34, PA++)

Major Ingredients
Lorna flare (synthetic sapphire) , propolis extract, non-seafood appetiser for fermentation, six kinds of plant callus culture extracts (green tea, cactus, rice, tomato, carrot, lotus).

It comes in an elegant and sleek, black plastic bottle with a roller applicator. The lid (and even the shape of the bottle) reminds me of Chanel's products.

The roller applicator is perfect for lazy people like me, as there's no need for foundation bases or brushes or sponges anymore; however if you don't like the idea of using a roller on your face, you can easily pop off the applicator and apply it with your hands or usual applicators.

When you press the button on the side a few times, the foundation will leak out, so that you can easily roll it over your face. It does, however, get a little messy if you press the button too many times, and too much foundation squirts out at once. Sometimes, the foundation doesn't roll onto the roller applicator, so you may need to use your finger to wipe it off the applicator to put onto your face, then to use the roller applicator to blend.

The Osèque High-End Touch comes with skincare benefits too ~ anti-wrinkle, whitening, and SPF34, so it's not just an ordinary foundation!

How To Use

After using your usual moisturiser, press the switch on the container, and roll the roller puff evenly onto the face. Press the switch several times so the contents are squeezed upwards. To wash the puff, old the puff and pull upwards to detach.

If you have trouble getting the foundation on the corners of your nose, you can try dabbing the applicator onto the area instead of rolling it on.

If anyone is interested, I did a tutorial & review video on the Osèque High-End Touch. I just realised that it's a pretty long video (oops!).

COMPARISON: OSÈQUE High-End Touch vs. JENNY HOUSE Perfect Skin One Shot Cover Stick Foundation

In the first photo, I only applied the Osèque High-End Touch onto the left part of my face. If you look carefully, you will see that my dark eye circles are less dark, but it didn't really change the colour of my skin. There are no obvious differences yet.

In the second photo, I am applying the Jenny House Perfect Skin One Shot Cover Stick Foundation onto the other half of my face.

If you look carefully in the photo below, you can see that my dark eye circle is concealed better on the right hand side. I do have quite a few moles (as shown in the photo above), but the small one below my eye is not as obvious anymore. The Jenny House Stick Foundation does a better job at concealing dark eye circles and small moles.

On the left: Osèque High-End Touch
On the right: Jenny House Perfect Skin One Shot Cover Stick Foundation

As you can see, with the photo on the left, the pores on my nose are not obvious, whereas with the photo on the right, the foundation seems to be stuck inside the pore. The Jenny House Stick Foundation is obviously more dry, as it is, after all, not a liquid foundation, hence sinks into the pores, so until the nose starts creating oil, the pores will still appear to be powdery. So, in this case, the Osèque High-End Touch seemed to do a better job at making the face appear poreless! As for the fine lines under the eyes, I think both give similar results, but Jenny House's Stick Foundation is slightly better, due to the better concealing function.

Overall, I think the Jenny House Perfect Skin One Shot Cover Stick Foundation still wins. The reasons are:

1) It's in the form of a stick, so it won't leak or spill, so it will be easy to carry around.
The button on the Osèque may accidentally be pressed when put inside your handbag, so it may leak.

2) The design is really convenient, as my hands don't get dirty your hands at all.
The Osèque can get quite messy, and you may need to use your hands to apply the foundation onto your face, before using the roller applicator.

3) It gives more coverage, so I don't even need to use a concealer unless I have a pimple or something big to cover up.
The Osèque gives a more natural look, so its coverage is very low.

4) It leaves my skin matte even after a whole day outside.
The Osèque doesn't make my face oily, but the finish is more dewy.

5) The retail price is much cheaper than the Osèque (Jenny House is selling for USD25, whereas the Osèque is USD33).

Overall, the Osèque High-End Touch is a good product if you don't need much coverage - it gives a natural look for everyday wear. The colour stays and doesn't wear off until you wash it off with makeup remover. It is very light-weight, isn't drying for the face, and makes your face look brightened. The bonus is that it contains many natural ingredients, as well as a serum included, so that it is not only a foundation, but also a skincare product. The main downside of this product is still its applicator, as it can get a little messy.

MEMEBOX SPECIAL #76 THE EMPRESS'S SECRETS UNBOXING

This is the second box that I got with the bundle...

Memebox Special #76 The Empress's Secrests

I think I was expecting a more oriental type of box, which would probably have products containing ginger, ginseng, gold, pearl, honey, or bee venom. I actually liked the box more after I had the unboxing video of it, but the only thing is about the wet tissues - imagine an Empress using a wet tissue wipe - that would be outrageous? Did they even exist then?

Update: I started using the Lime Nature Double Very Moisturising Cream yesterday and my skin likes it! I've been having quite a few spots on my face lately due to the change in weather and change in skincare products, but this cream felt very hydrating and didn't irritate my face at all!!

MEMEBOX SPECIAL #70 CLEANSE & TONE UNBOXING

This is by far one of the better boxes I've received recently - at least there were no CPM items inside, but then again, the quality of the boxes is definitely not as high as they used to be!

REVIEW: PUREDERM MIRACLE BODY SHAPING TREATMENT

The Purederm Miracle Body Shaping Treatment was featured in Memebox Special #27 Diet Box.

Purederm's Miracle Body Shaping Treatment is made from a patented complex, 'Bodyfit' which has proven to be highly effective in breaking down excess cellulites and preventing body fats form piling up. The caffeine components also work to remove puffiness along your body line, and the moisturising components such as olive oil and sweet almond oil help maintain body skin highly moist and supple.

How to use:

There are two parts to the Treatment.
Tear along the dotted line to separate the two parts.

Open up the CO2 patch.

You will see something like a Panadol body patch.

Open up the package with the Miracle Body Sculpting Gel, and pour generously over the CO2 patch. Make sure you pour it onto the side where it sticks to your body.

Peel off the sides of the patch.

Adhere the patch over your arms, thighs, back, tummy, or wherever you wish.
I put mine on my tummy.

Remove the patch after 20-30 minutes.

Personal Views:

It's quite an easy product to use, and it's not really that messy - at least my hands were clean afterwards! After putting it on my tummy for around 5 minutes, I could feel my tummy getting warm. The warmth wasn't overly hot or unbearable, but my tummy did feel slightly itchy, though that feeling did go away pretty quickly. I removed the patch after 30 minutes, and I saw that my tummy was quite red, though the redness did go away very quickly. There was a lot of essence left on my tummy which I had to wipe off with some tissue. I don't think I noticed any difference in size nor firmness after using the patch, but it was quite a fun thing to try out! I probably wouldn't repurchase though!

REVIEW: SKINAZ THE KISSABLE 24H LIP TATTOO

I received this product inside my Memebox Special #16 OMG Box, but since it was orange in colour, I originally thought of giving it away. I did, however, change my mind, because I need to start blogging about products again, and this would be a good place to start!

SKINAZ The Kissable 24H Lip Tattoo 13g

SKINAZ takes lip makeup to a whole new level with its Lip Tattoo! This'll be the ultimate no-makeup makeup since it actually works like an impermanent colour tattoo on your lips and does not smudge or gets erased for 24 hours long. Plus, it comes in five lusciously radiant colours: Lovely Pink, Sexy Red, Rising Sun, Sweet Wine, Kiss Orange

How to Use:

Apply the Lip Tattoo thickly over your lips and wait 10-15 minutes until it completely dries up.

Then, remove the dried lip tattoo from one end to another.

Finish off by applying another layer of lip gloss or lip balm over the top.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

When I first applied it onto my lips, it left my lips feeling quite sticky. The colour was also very bright and bold! It dried up after 10 minutes, and I was able to peel it off quite easily. The colour left on my lips was still quite orange, but it was definitely not as sharp as before peeling it off! Surprisingly, it was not too drying on my lips! The colour was also very long-lasting, as it was not so easy to wash off with water. I also tried to wipe it off using the Chanel Eye & Lip Remover, but the colour had still not completely come off. I was able to wash it all off eventually after using my facial cleanser and Clarisonic Mia2. If I had received the Lovely Pink, I would probably use it more, but since I received the Kiss Orange, I would probably just put it away.

This definitely was a fun product to play around with, but it wasn't really that OMG to me.

MEMEBOX SUPERBOX #63 BLACKHEADS NO MORE UNBOXING

This is another Pore Care Box that I ordered...

Memebox Superbox #63 Blackheads No More

I used the Dermahouse Deep Cleansing Cream just now, and it's pretty good! It has a faint scent, not too overwhelming, and it was able to wash the Holika Holika Berry Berry Lip Tint (I received it from the Memebox Superbox #62 Just Gellin' Box) off my lips. It's also not too drying on the face too!

MEMEBOX SUPERBOX #34 DERMOCOSMETICS #2 UNBOXING

I received not one, not two, but THREE Memeboxes today!!! Here is the first one...
Memebox Superbox #34 Dermocosmetics #2

This was an okay box for me, but not my favourite!! I would've expected more larger sized products from this box due to the price ($39 + shipping), and not just one-off acne and peeling pads, but it was great to finally see a 200ml-sized toner inside my box!!

REVIEW: MASKS FROM ILLI

"There are no ugly women in the world, just lazy ones."

This saying is SO true...if you want to be pretty, you can't be lazy!

I'm sure most of you have realised that I'm a HUGE fan of masks, whether it be wash-off masks, face sheet masks, or sleeping masks!

I personally prefer using paper masks which are made of cotton or cotton blend as opposed to gel masks - I dislike the slimy feeling of the mask when spreading it onto my face with my bare hands, and also because they always seem to slide down my face! I also prefer essence masks over wash-off masks, as it's more convenient, and I like that the essence absorbs into my skin instead of me having to wash the mask off afterwards.

I'm usually quite lazy during the winter when it comes to masks, as it feels really cold putting a mask onto my face and leaving it there for so long, but since it's summer now, it's MASK TIME AGAIN!!! For the past month, I have been using masks every night or every second night, and my face is great now (many compliments from my hubby and from friends)!!

I have quite a large collection of masks - some cheap ones and some more expensive ones. I use the more expensive ones usually after I've completed a home facial, and I use the cheaper ones on the other days.

What I look for in a sheet mask:
- The type of material the mask is made out of: paper, cotton, gel
- How much essence is on the mask
- The shape of the mask, whether it covers my face properly
- Whether it will leave a sticky feeling on my face after removing the mask
- How effective the mask is

In this post, I will be reviewing the masks from illi

I first came across this brand when I received the illi Green Tea Brightening Mask from my Memebox Global #11, and I instantly fell in love!!! I then went to buy the other masks from the same brand to see if they were all as great!!!

1) illi Green Tea Brightening Mask

Material: Thick, silky cotton blend, soaked completely in essence
Scent: A pleasant flowery scent
Shape: It's a 2-part mask - the top part covers the forehead, eyes, and nose; the bottom part covers the mouth and chin. The mask covered my face completely, even the sides of my nose (it's really hard to find sheet masks that can cover every bit of my face so well)!!!
Effectiveness: After removing the mask, I gently massaged the remaining essence into my skin, and it did absorb quite quickly, so it didn't leave much of a sticky feeling on my face. My face felt hydrated, pores tightened, and I had a smoother complexion, but as for its brightening effects, I'm not so sure.
Price: HK$22 per mask (around US$3 per mask)
Rating: 9/10 (it would be 10/10, but it's always out of stock and it's so hard to get hold of)!!

2) illi Ginseng Firming Mask

Material: Thin gel-type mask
Scent: Flowery perfume scent
Shape: It's a 2-part mask - the top part covers the forehead, eyes and nose; the bottom part covers the mouth and chin. The mask does not cover my nose entirely, and it needed a lot of adjusting for it to be able to cover my face properly. Again, I don't really like gel-type masks, because of the slimy feeling when putting the mask onto my face!
Effectiveness: After removing the mask, all the essence had completely absorbed into my skin, but it did leave a slightly sticky feeling on my face. I realised that my pores look slightly smaller, and my skin feels slightly firmer, but my face does feel slightly dry too.
Price: HK$22 per mask (around US$3 per mask)
Rating: 7/10

3) illi Lotus Moisture Mask

Material: Cotton blend mask, mask not soaking wet in essence
Scent: A super lotus flower scent!!!
Shape: One piece mask with no slits on the edges, shape was okay (the holes for the eyes and mouth weren't too big) but it didn't cover the sides of my nose very well!
Effectiveness: The essence absorbed into my face very quickly, and hardly left a sticky feeling, but there wasn't any essence left for me to massage into my face afterwards! It did leave my skin feeling hydrated and moisturised though.
Price: HK$15 per mask (around US$2 per mask)
Rating: 8/10

4) illi Mugwort Calming Mask

Material: Cotton blend mask, mask not soaking wet in essence
Scent: Cannot define the scent, but it's a plant, and the scent made me want to sneeze!
Shape: One piece mask with no slits on the edges, shape was okay (the holes for the eyes and mouth weren't too big) but it didn't cover the sides of my nose very wellEffectiveness: At first, it only made a tingling sensation on my face, but after a while, it made my face feel so itchy that I had to remove the mask within 10 minutes!! I instantly went to wash off the essence with water, then applied a calendula toner to calm my face - this has NEVER happened to me before!!! This was supposed to be a calming mask, but it did everything but calm my face!!!
Price: HK$12 per mask (around US$1.60 per mask)
Rating: 1/10

illi also has a Camellia Oil Intensive Nourishing Mask (retails at HK$12 per mask) which I have yet to try, but it is in the same series as the Lotus Moisture Mask and the Mugwort Calming Mask, so I don't have high hopes for it.

OVERALL VIEW:
I think out of all the masks from illi, I think I would only repurchase the Green Tea Brightening Mask; I thought all the other masks would come in the same material, texture, and shape as the Brightening Mask, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The Ginseng Total Ageing Care Mask was the same price as the Brightening Mask, so I thought they would be of a similar effect, but if I had known that it was a gel-type mask, I would not have purchased it at all! The other masks, although much cheaper, were made of a cheaper material, the shape of the mask did not cover the sides of the nose, and they were not as effective - for the same type of mask, I could've paid for a much lower price!

I have also tried some other products from illi that I love, but I will be talking about them later in my other posts!!

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!!!
