MEMEBOX GLOBAL #14 UNBOXING

Memebox Global Editions usually contain a variety of both makeup and skincare products, for face and for the body! They are very popular amongst Meme-Fans, and they sell out very quickly! This is the second Memebox Global Edition that I have purchased...

Memebox Global #14

I think this was a really awesome box, with LOTS of masks, and although the description card says there are 8 products inside, considering Memebox usually counts one mask as one product, this box ends up containing 15 products - WOW!!!

REVIEW: SKIN FACTORY 7 SECONDS MORNING SHEET 7in1

I received this product in my Memebox The Mask Edition #4, and I even tried it in my Unboxing Video (please start the video at 9:50). I instantly fell in love with this product because of how convenient it was!

Skin Factory 7 Seconds Morning Sheet (20 each/150g)

Ready your skin before makeup in the morning with this 7 Seconds Morning Sheet which works as a toner, a lotion, and an essence all in one! What's more, a quick 7 second wipe with this dual facial sheet will give you all the effects of a facial massage, an anti-wrinkle serum, and a dead skin cell remover.

Ingredients included:
Morinda Citrifolia Fruit Extract (Noni), Echinacea Extract, Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Galactomyces, Jasmine Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green Tea), Grape Extract, Orange Extract

How to use:
After washing your face, insert two fingers into the pad and rub your face with the dotted side of the pad for seven seconds. Then, with the other side of the pad, massage the essence into your face for another seven seconds.

Tip:
Use this before special occasions or any time when you have to look your best. Use the included tweezers to pick up the pads. If you don't have enough time to apply makeup, just use this sheet and apply BB cream to be ready for your day!

This product is free from:
Parabens, Ethanol, Silicon, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Phenoxy Ethanol, Mineral Oil, BHT, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Talc, Tri Ethanol Amine

I use this in the mornings in place of my usual toner and essence on days that I'm feeling lazy. The sheets come in a plastic tub with with a plastic cover. It comes with a tin cover that you need to take off before using (it reminds me of a food can!).

The pads are round in shape, and look like cotton pads, but are much thinner than cotton pads (like the material for face sheet masks). The pads have a pocket so that you can place your fingers inside when using. One side of the pad is dotted, and the other side is smooth. It comes with a pair of tweezers, so you can take the sheets out with ease.

The pad is soaked completely in essence when I took it out of the tub (but not dripping wet), and the dotted side of the pad acts as a slight exfoliator when applied onto the face (but it's very mild, so you can use it everyday). After using the dotted side for 7 seconds, I saw that the pad was slightly yellow in colour. The other side just feels like a normal sheet mask, and I use it to pat my face so that the essence can absorb into my face! I like how it doesn't leave any sticky feeling on my face afterwards, and it keeps my face really hydrated. It does, however, leave quite a lot of essence on my face afterwards, so I usually pat my face with my hands afterwards or massage the essence into my face, and the essence absorbs really quickly, so there's no problem there.

It says on the tub that the product is used for whitening and anti-wrinkle, but like other Korean skincare products, the word "whitening" doesn't actually mean that it will whiten your skin, instead, they will usually brighten up your skin-tone. Having that said, I have realised that this product really helped to brighten up my skin; however, I didn't really notice much for the anti-wrinkle effect (but that's probably because I don't have wrinkles, only fine lines under my eyes, but I don't use this product on my eyes!).

It's also very convenient that it's an exfoliator, a toner, a lotion, and an essence all in one, perfect for days when I'm in a hurry or when I don't feel like putting layers of products onto my face! The only downside to this product is the expensive price tag to it - this retails for US$28.90 at WishTrend (it says US$39 on the Memebox description card), but there are only 20 pads inside!

Is it a bonus that it contains Platinum inside?

I forgot to mention that it comes with a small leaflet that tells you the circulation points on your face in which you can use the dotted side of the pad to massage with.

I liked the product so much that I went to purchase the other two tubs:
Platinum Rose Wine Ampoule Mask for Night Time
7 Seconds Homme Sheet

I tried using the 7 Seconds Homme Sheet on hubby's face last night, and he didn't break out, so it's definitely suitable for very sensitive skin!

It does say the word "refrigerator" on the tub, so perhaps you're supposed to put it into the fridge for a more refreshing feel? I'm too lazy to put it into the fridge, but I think it's still a great product to use without the cooling effect!!!

I haven't opened the Platinum Rose Wine Ampoule Mask yet, but I saw that it's a face sheet mask - my favourite! I can't wait to try that out and review it later!!!

Overall Rating: 9/10

Memebox Superbox #37 At Home

I was quite impressed with this box, and I'll probably use most, if not all, the products inside! It's definitely a good time to take care of myself, especially all the effort taken in giving birth to my baby girl, and when I have to spend the rest of my month confinement AT HOME!!

REVIEW: MASKS FROM ILLI

"There are no ugly women in the world, just lazy ones."

This saying is SO true...if you want to be pretty, you can't be lazy!

I'm sure most of you have realised that I'm a HUGE fan of masks, whether it be wash-off masks, face sheet masks, or sleeping masks!

I personally prefer using paper masks which are made of cotton or cotton blend as opposed to gel masks - I dislike the slimy feeling of the mask when spreading it onto my face with my bare hands, and also because they always seem to slide down my face! I also prefer essence masks over wash-off masks, as it's more convenient, and I like that the essence absorbs into my skin instead of me having to wash the mask off afterwards.

I'm usually quite lazy during the winter when it comes to masks, as it feels really cold putting a mask onto my face and leaving it there for so long, but since it's summer now, it's MASK TIME AGAIN!!! For the past month, I have been using masks every night or every second night, and my face is great now (many compliments from my hubby and from friends)!!

I have quite a large collection of masks - some cheap ones and some more expensive ones. I use the more expensive ones usually after I've completed a home facial, and I use the cheaper ones on the other days.

What I look for in a sheet mask:
- The type of material the mask is made out of: paper, cotton, gel
- How much essence is on the mask
- The shape of the mask, whether it covers my face properly
- Whether it will leave a sticky feeling on my face after removing the mask
- How effective the mask is

In this post, I will be reviewing the masks from illi

I first came across this brand when I received the illi Green Tea Brightening Mask from my Memebox Global #11, and I instantly fell in love!!! I then went to buy the other masks from the same brand to see if they were all as great!!!

1) illi Green Tea Brightening Mask

Material: Thick, silky cotton blend, soaked completely in essence
Scent: A pleasant flowery scent
Shape: It's a 2-part mask - the top part covers the forehead, eyes, and nose; the bottom part covers the mouth and chin. The mask covered my face completely, even the sides of my nose (it's really hard to find sheet masks that can cover every bit of my face so well)!!!
Effectiveness: After removing the mask, I gently massaged the remaining essence into my skin, and it did absorb quite quickly, so it didn't leave much of a sticky feeling on my face. My face felt hydrated, pores tightened, and I had a smoother complexion, but as for its brightening effects, I'm not so sure.
Price: HK$22 per mask (around US$3 per mask)
Rating: 9/10 (it would be 10/10, but it's always out of stock and it's so hard to get hold of)!!

2) illi Ginseng Firming Mask

Material: Thin gel-type mask
Scent: Flowery perfume scent
Shape: It's a 2-part mask - the top part covers the forehead, eyes and nose; the bottom part covers the mouth and chin. The mask does not cover my nose entirely, and it needed a lot of adjusting for it to be able to cover my face properly. Again, I don't really like gel-type masks, because of the slimy feeling when putting the mask onto my face!
Effectiveness: After removing the mask, all the essence had completely absorbed into my skin, but it did leave a slightly sticky feeling on my face. I realised that my pores look slightly smaller, and my skin feels slightly firmer, but my face does feel slightly dry too.
Price: HK$22 per mask (around US$3 per mask)
Rating: 7/10

3) illi Lotus Moisture Mask

Material: Cotton blend mask, mask not soaking wet in essence
Scent: A super lotus flower scent!!!
Shape: One piece mask with no slits on the edges, shape was okay (the holes for the eyes and mouth weren't too big) but it didn't cover the sides of my nose very well!
Effectiveness: The essence absorbed into my face very quickly, and hardly left a sticky feeling, but there wasn't any essence left for me to massage into my face afterwards! It did leave my skin feeling hydrated and moisturised though.
Price: HK$15 per mask (around US$2 per mask)
Rating: 8/10

4) illi Mugwort Calming Mask

Material: Cotton blend mask, mask not soaking wet in essence
Scent: Cannot define the scent, but it's a plant, and the scent made me want to sneeze!
Shape: One piece mask with no slits on the edges, shape was okay (the holes for the eyes and mouth weren't too big) but it didn't cover the sides of my nose very wellEffectiveness: At first, it only made a tingling sensation on my face, but after a while, it made my face feel so itchy that I had to remove the mask within 10 minutes!! I instantly went to wash off the essence with water, then applied a calendula toner to calm my face - this has NEVER happened to me before!!! This was supposed to be a calming mask, but it did everything but calm my face!!!
Price: HK$12 per mask (around US$1.60 per mask)
Rating: 1/10

illi also has a Camellia Oil Intensive Nourishing Mask (retails at HK$12 per mask) which I have yet to try, but it is in the same series as the Lotus Moisture Mask and the Mugwort Calming Mask, so I don't have high hopes for it.

OVERALL VIEW:
I think out of all the masks from illi, I think I would only repurchase the Green Tea Brightening Mask; I thought all the other masks would come in the same material, texture, and shape as the Brightening Mask, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The Ginseng Total Ageing Care Mask was the same price as the Brightening Mask, so I thought they would be of a similar effect, but if I had known that it was a gel-type mask, I would not have purchased it at all! The other masks, although much cheaper, were made of a cheaper material, the shape of the mask did not cover the sides of the nose, and they were not as effective - for the same type of mask, I could've paid for a much lower price!

I have also tried some other products from illi that I love, but I will be talking about them later in my other posts!!

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!!!

MEMEBOX OFFICE ESSENTIALS BOX UNBOXING

I don't work, but I got this box anyway...
MEMEBOX #OFFICE ESSENTIALS BOX

I don't really get why they put a Toner inside the box, since most people would have put on makeup already before heading to work, so a skincare product (especially one that needs to be applied with a spatula = so troublesome!) would be kind of useless (unless it was a face mist). I would've hoped for a dry shampoo (maybe?) to deal with the oily hair throughout the day instead!

Overall, this was an okay box, but definitely not my favourite one!

MEMEBOX - the best beauty box ever!

Memebox is a Korean online beauty store where specialists advise customers of the latest trends and the best beauty products to buy. Unlike other beauty boxes out there which are usually monthly subscription boxes, Memebox does not provide a monthly service, but instead, allows you to choose what you buy, and you can buy whenever you feel like it! The brands they include are not everyday brands that you see around, so it's good that I get to try new things all the time!! The boxes are also set at everyday prices, and the products inside are always worth more than what you paid for!!! They also ship to most countries around the world, including Hong Kong!

The types of boxes to choose from:

Memebox
The original Memebox comes packed with 4-8 full sized products and deluxe samples, carefully curated from Korea to give you the best experience and widest exposure to a range of products.

Superbox
Superbox was inspired by the Memebox lovers, looking for full-sized products catered to specific needs. Each Superbox series comes with its own theme, designed to target particular concerns.
(click the following photos/links to get $3 off, in addition to the coupon code and sign up points)

Luckybox
Luckyboxes were created to bring back the most popular items selected from previously sold-out Memeboxes, all combined in one wonderful collection.

Memebox Mini
These boxes are $15 including shipping, and you will get your hands on 3-6 beauty products (deluxe & pouch samples) from Korea.

Nakedbox
All the products inside the Nakedbox are completely revealed, and they ship within 2-3 days after purchase.

All the products contained in the Memeboxes, Superboxes, and Luckyboxes, are sourced directly from Korea, including only the best-loved items thoughtfully curated by their cosmetic aficionados at Memebox.

Don't know which box to buy?
- If you are new to Memebox, the Luckybox would be perfect for you! I purchased the Luckybox #5 as my first box, and I have been addicted to Memebox ever since!!
- If you like trying new products as much as I do, the Memebox Globals are awesome, as they contain many deluxe samples (as well as a few full sized products), and you can try the products before deciding on whether to purchase the full size product! They also have a larger variety of products inside!
- Superboxes are all themed, so if you have a particular concern, these are for you! For me, I really liked the Pore Care Superboxes!
- If you don't like buying a box without knowing what's inside, you can go for the Nakedboxes - all the components are exposed!
- If you like trying out new products, but have a tight budget, then the Memebox Minis are for you!

HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT: Troubled Skin

We recently came across this product, and we absolutely fell in love with it...
LJH's TEA TREE ESSENCE 90

It is a lightly-textured tea tree oil formulated with sensitive skin in mind. Made from 90% tea tree extract, LJH's Tea Tree Essence 90 clears, moisturises, and brightens troubled skin, targeting acne and delivering nutrients deeply for a hydrated, vibrant complexion. Key ingredients include sea buckthorn and centella asiatica, plants known to delay the skin maturation process and speed the healing of damaged tissue.
- copied from the Memebox website

Key Ingredients:
Tea tree oil, trehalose, sea buckthorn, and centella asiatica.
Free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial pigments, ethanol, artificial fragrances, and animal ingredients.
- copied from the Memebox website

How To Use:
After cleansing your face, apply the Essence all over your face, and pat gently.
Another way to apply it is to cut up a cotton pad into small pieces, drop some of the essence onto the cotton pad, and place onto the acne, and leave for 20-30 minutes. Remove cotton pads. (suggested method by MUT member Vvianc)
Continue with serum/ampoule, followed by eye cream and then moisturiser.

Hubby has very sensitive skin, so I have to be very careful when trying out any new products on his skin. Luckily, this essence did not cause him any breakouts, and it also helped improve his skin too! He also complimented that the essence felt very smooth on his face and he liked it a lot! Just after 2 nights of using this essence, I noticed that the pimples on his face were less red and less obvious, his face was more hydrated, and he had a brighter complexion! I was really impressed with the product, so I went to search for it...and unfortunately, they didn't seem to be selling in Hong Kong!

Unlike other tea tree oils, this essence has no tea tree scent at all, so you won't walk around smelling like tea tree oil!

PROS:
Reduces the appearance of acne and dark spots
Brightens skin complexion
Hydrates and soothes troubled skin
Does not smell like tea tree oil
Very light and watery in texture
Absorbs very quickly into the skin
Feels very smooth on the skin

CONS:
Slightly expensive - around USD25 per 50ml bottle

This is the 50ml bottle - comes in a matte glass bottle with a dropper.
We had never heard of this brand beforehand, nor do they sell them here in Hong Kong. I received a deluxe sample (20ml) in my first Memebox - Luckybox #5, and I'm so glad I didn't give it away! The full-size product is 50ml, and I've already purchased 2 extra bottles of them from the qoo10.hk website.

We really love this product, and it has become our Holy Grail Product for troubled skin!

Thank you for reading, and hope you found my review useful!

LIEBSTER AWARD!!!

I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Veritazy from http://veritazy.wordpress.com/

I googled about the Liebster Award, and learnt that the Liebster Award is passed around the blogging community to those who have fewer than 200 followers!

You can read more about the awards here.

Here are the rules:
If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award, and you choose to accept it, write a blog post about the Liebster Award in which you:
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
2. Display the award on your board - by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a "widget" or a "gadget". (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post).
3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 5-11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have less than 200 followers.
6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
7. List these rules in your post. Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster Award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

Note: You cannot nominate the person who nominated you!!
